Public School Teacher Development Program 2011
Programa de Atualização para Professores de Inglês da Rede Estadual
We are very happy to invite English Teachers (Ensino Médio) working at the State Schools to sign up for the Public School Teacher Development Program 2011. This is a joint initiative between the American Embassy and Associação Alumni. Detailed information follows below:
Objectives of the Course:
- To improve teachers’ proficiency in English
- To help teachers improve their teaching practice
- To raise teachers’ awareness of the North American culture in order to explore cultural aspects in their classes
Requirements:
To apply for the course, teachers must
· Be teaching English presently
· Have no more than 15 years of experience as a public school teacher
· Have intermediate-level proficiency in English
· Be able to attend the whole course (two semesters - 2011)
Schedule:
- Load? Total of 140 hours: two semesters (60 hours each semester) and 20 hours for
the development of the Research Project
- When? Fridays, 14:00 to 17:40 (30 openings)
March – December, 2011 (recess in July)
- Where? Alumni Jardins – Rua Padre João Manoel, 319
Other Information:
- The course books will be provided to teachers by the US Embassy
